Alcons Audio QRP20 Column Array System

Alcons Audio announced the QRP20, a two-way column array system with high-Q directivity for increased projection control to be used as a vertical sound system. It is designed for both permanent and portable applications and where fidelity response needs to be projected with wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage.

Using the RBN401 4-inch pro-ribbon driver on a “Morpher” lens, the system offers a high throw-efficiency and projection control. Its transient response and peak power handling (800W @ 200ms) make SPL a 1:15 RMS-to-peak dynamic range. The flat frequency response of the RBN mid-high frequency transducers brings a maximum “gain-before-feedback” directly in front of/under the system.

The RBN401 is mounted in a D’Appolito speaker configuration with the 4.5-inch woofers in a sealed cabinet. The custom-design 5-inch woofers feature Active Coil technology for low-distortion LF reproduction, matching the pro-ribbon MHF reproduction.

The QRP’s are powered and controlled by the ALC amplified loudspeaker controller. The ALC offers QRP20-specific drive processing through the integrated VHIR processing, audiophile amplifier stages and Signal Integrity Sensing feedback circuit.

The combination with the RBN401 pro-ribbon and the 5-inch woofers with Active Coil technology are in a sealed box measuring 150 millimeters / 5.9-inch wide and deep.
